TALKING WITH HEROES is not about politics. It is about honoring, supporting, helping and providing information for our men and women in the military and their families.
We will interview men and women in the military, military support groups, veterans groups who have programs for helping men and women who are or who have been deployed, companies who have projects for helping our troops, musicians with support our troops and patriotic songs, athletes who support our troops and more.
Men and Women in the Military will talk about their experiences in Iraq or Afghanistan with a focus on the untold stories: what they did or witnessed that involved helping the people in these countries..
Military Support Groups will talk about who they are, what they do to help our men and women in the military and/or their families and how Americans can help.
We invite all Americans to unite with us in spreading the word about Talking with Heroes.

Back From Iraq Updates and News Release
Hello Everybody,

I am back from in Iraq in New York getting ready to get on another flight to Denver then a Greyhound Bus back to Abilene, TX where I will be for at least a few weeks.

I would say it is fair to say that this trip was successful way beyond my expectations. I am looking forward to getting back to Abilene, TX later this week and watching each of the tapes. I believe they all came out good.

There is so much to do. I was able to journal daily and I have lots of pictures. I need to figure out how to put all that together. Also I have been asked to come back perhaps for a week or two longer the next time. So I need to be working on that.

Thank you to those of you who have been praying and sending emails. It has helped a lot. There is so much to share but later.

We have a big job ahead of us in getting the word about these 8 talk shows. I did one more yesterday with two Marines at Al Asad, Iraq.

Thank you again for your prayers and support!

Blessings

Bob Calvert

1. The Audio from interviews we did on our Second Trip to Iraq in January 2007 are now ALL on the www.talkingwithheroes.com website.

The interviews we did with Major Wright and others with the Air Force plus with the Iraqi Air Force General and Colonel and more are now in the Past Shows/Archives section and can be listened to 24 hours a day and 7 days a week. They are the Feb 11th and Feb 18th programs.

The first of many interviews with our Marines in Rawah, Iraq where we were embedded with the Marines and Iraqi Police aired on Feb. 25th. That program is also now in archives. On this program we heard from Major Quinlan, from the temporary Iraqi Police Chief, The Iraqi School Superintendent and more.

On Sunday night March 4th, through the month of March and into April interviews from our Marines, Minnesota National Guard and Iraqis will continue.

Over the past year after a program airs we put them into archives so that people could listen months later. For these second Iraq Tour Interviews you can wait until the designated Sunday night program or you can listen anytime by clicking on the banner on each of the Talk Show Pages. All of the programs are available in Archives Now!

2. For those of you in Colorado and the surrounding 9 states, the first of the interviews with the Air Force aired on Altitude Sports and Entertainment Regional Cable Network on Feb 22nd. The schedule for future airings every week until the end of April is now in the website under the TV SCHEDULES link. Also those with Dish Network or DirectTV with their sports package... you can watch these programs too. The video includes the interviews, convoys we were on, the school presentation and more.

3. Altitude Sports and Entertainment made 3 One Minute TV Commercial spots available to Talking with Heroes on each of the programs. These commercials are just $250 for each one minute spot and will include the re-runs for the program the advertiser picks. Half of this money comes to Talking with Heroes. If you know of anybody who might be interested in getting their message out to Altitudes many hundreds of thousands of viewers (they actually have 4 million), these spots are available only before the program(s) begin airing. Program 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, and 8 are still open. Any help with letting companies and organizations know about this opportunity would be greatly appreciated.

4. Thanks to Dave Prensner and New Life Church in Colorado Springs the DVD editing has been completed and thanks to MSGT Craig Colton the artwork is complete as well. I am trying to find a computer in Colorado Springs or as close as possible that has DVD capabilities so that I can upload the Video and artwork to the company who will be producing these DVD's for us.

There will be a way that everybody can order one at a time or at wholesale pricing... in other words they will be a fund raiser for those who will let their contacts, supporters, family, etc know about the DVD's. The Second Tour Interviews will be on 6 DVD's.

5. Some of you will remember that I have in the past interviewed MSGT John Ubaldi.. actually twice. John is on staff at Move America Forward.
www.moveamericaforward.org

They are launching their "These Colors Don't Run!" Pro Troops national caravan from California (leaving on Thursday, March 8, 2007) to Washington, D.C. where they will join "The Gathering of Eagles" for a giant pro-troop rally on Saturday March 17, 2007.

Move America Forward has invited me to be on the entire caravan with them and to do talk shows from each location where they have a rally. I would get to interview active duty military, Gold Star Family members, Active Duty family members, Veterans and more.

They are sending out an email to their mailing list to let their people know that for me to do this we would need enough new sponsors to cover my car rental (I do not own a vehicle), gas, the extra hours on StarDust Radio and more. We estimate close to $2,000.00. If some of you receiving this could help with this it would be very helpful. We can do a lot to let the country know about these important support our troops events plus this could give Talking with Heroes exposure to many thousands of new people.

If any of you can think of one or more companies or organizations who might like to be thanked on one or all of these talk shows please let me know. Hopefully between MoveAmericaForward.Org and us we will be able to raise the money for us to participate.

I invite each of you to go to
www.moveamericaforward.org and check out the cities in which the Caravan will be going through. If you are near any of these cities I would encourage you to participate and help get more people to the events. Perhaps you could even go on the caravan for a while.

6. Military Personnel in Iraq and others are talking with me about me making a third trip back to Iraq and possibly also to Afghanistan this time too. Those interested in more info on that please email me:
bob@youngheroes.us

I want to thank each of you who have become sponsors and each of you who have been getting the word out about the interviews from Talking with Heroes. Since the media is still ignoring these incredible stories, we are relying totally on you and more Americans to let others know.

To those of you who are involved in sending care packages and/or letters to our troops... you will hear in the interviews how much they appreciate this.

And last I want to say that it is hard to ask for money. I ran through any funds I had almost two years ago. We rely totally now on our new sponsors and current sponsors who upgrade in getting these stories out to the American people. Not only the stories of our military but also what so many of you are doing with military support and veterans groups. We put together a win win sponsor program however if anybody has better ideas please let me know.

Thank You

An interesting development has happened that I thought some of you might
want to know about. Jim Martin at Altitude.TV has agreed that we can take
their edited 30 minute programs and put them on the internet for all to
watch on their computers. I am looking at YouTube or InYourFace.TV and
some others. InYourFace.TV is owned by a Vietnam Veteran. I could actually
put these programs on more than one of these networks. Any feedback on
suggestions would be appreciated.

This makes the 30 or 60 second commercial spots offered to me by Altitude
much more valuable for those who take one of more of these commercials.
Not only will those watching on Altitude in 10 states have an opportunity
to see those commercials but now also those who watch on their computers
on TV. At the end of each 30 minute program there will be a way for people
to purchase the DVD and watch 100% of the interviews un edited.

The Commercials are $250 per spot. The most now we can offer would be 3
spots on 10 of these 30 minute programs for a total of 30. If you are
interested in having your message seen by these people please contact me
as soon as possible by email
bob@youngheroes.us or you can call me later
today or this evening on my cell phone 719-310-7814

I have attached a word document to this email. For those of you with
military support groups or veterans groups who would like to have one or
more of these spots.. perhaps you could take this and the attachment to
one or more of your corporate sponsors or indivudual donors.

BELOW IS THE UPDATED EMAIL THAT HAS GONE TO PEOPLE AROUND THE COUNTRY:

My name is Bob Calvert. I have been doing a talk show for the past year
called Talking with Heroes.

Oct 2006 and again Jan 2007 I went to Iraq to interview our military and
Iraqis. I stay out of politics and focus on supporting our troops and
their families.  Those interviews are all in our website
www.talkingwithheroes.com for anybody to listen to 24 hours a day.

The interviews we did in Iraq are also airing on Altitude Sports and
Entertainment a regional cable provider based in Denver. People in a 10
state area and also those with a sports package with either Dish Network
or DirecTV can now watch the interviews we did. This includes footage from
convoys we were on.

Last week I sent out an email to some key people around the country to see
if there would be interest in having me bring my talk show to their
communities. The response has been very good. I am now working to
finalize 9 cities and there may be more.

Below is an outline of a potential schedule:

MAY 2007 EVENTS

May 4th.. Kansas City, Missouri hosted by Indian Creek Community Church.
That talk show webpage is now on our website under the Talk Show Schedule
Link. The activity center seats 350 people. The response from Kansas City
has convinced me that we can fill those seats. We are working on getting
sponsors to cover our costs and also getting our guests in place.

May 11th....Iowa City, Iowa is a possibility

After May 18th LEXINGTON, KENTUCKY--to be hosted by militarymissions.org
possibly at another large Church. That webpage will go up as soon as the
details are finalized.

Next: East Coast....Wash., DC, Pennsylvania, New York areas?  Two people
have responded from these areas but nobody yet who has offered to organize
the event. If anybody knows of a support the troops event already planned
in any of these areas around the middle of May please let me know.

Next:  North Carolina by Camp LeJeune with Marines we interviewed in Iraq.
If we can find a sponsor and somebody to organize it there.

May 20th Minnesota. This program may take place with interviews over the
phone unless somebody from the area can find a place for us to do it live
and also a sponsor to cover the costs.

May 26th Cordele, Georgia - We will have details about this event in the
talk show schedule page soon.

Possibly Florida after Cordele. We have been asked to go to Florida but
need to find somebody in that area to organize it and help find us the
sponsors to cover our costs.

-------------------------------------
JULY 2007 EVENTS

California at the
www.marineparentsunited.com 2007 National Family
Conference July 26-29, 2007 "United in Spirit"  Anaheim, Ca The Original
Marine Parents Conference!
We did our second talk show on the road in 2006 at the Marine United
parents Convention in North Carolina. We are excited to be invited back
again this year. We will have this talk show page online soon also.

SEPTEMBER 2007

September 2nd or 3rd   Dallas, Texas.. talk show at an existing event

September 15th.. Abilene, Texas   Talk Show at an existing event. We
already have one level one sponsor for this event.

OCTOBER 2007

October 2007?  Fort Wayne.. at an already scheduled event.

We are also working on possible events in Colorado Springs and Denver and
other areas.

The idea I sent out is that I contact key people around the country and
see who would like me to come to their community to show maybe an hour or
so of footage from the first and second Iraq Talk Shows.

1. I would be looking for people who have the ability to find a place
(hopefully donated) where a hundred or more people could come in and set
down. A VFW or American Legion or a Church would be good places. There
would have to be a way for the people to see the footage in that room..
big screen, overhead projector or something like that.

We would then broadcast a one hour talk show live on the internet and also
where possibly film these events as well.

SINCE I sent this out I have become aware that in some areas there are
already events being planned as I found out in two cities in Texas to show
support for our troops and their families. In those areas with the local
organizers okay we would have one of our one hour talk show programs
either before, during or after their event. Local media could broadcast
these interviews on their networks so even more people could listen. The
local organizers would recommend who I interview from local support troops
organizers and local leadership, military personnel, families of military,
etc.

2. I would have to have a pre-committment for at least one Level One
Sponsor or Five Level Two Sponsors ($500 total).  Whoever becomes
the main sponsor(s) in that local community would have high visibility on
our website and in the local area.

3. Once at the event I would have our new DVD's of the Second and
hopefully First Iraq Tour that people could purchase. $5 per DVD sold
would go to one or more local projects that support our troops.. care
packages, postage for care packages, helping wounded, etc.

4. The local organizer(s) would contact all the local media and get them
involved in covering the event.

5. People coming to these events could bring items for care packages.
Perhaps schools, ministries could involve the youth in letter writing
campaigns. The letters could be brought to the event.

6. Local groups who are helping the troops could have an information
table set up.

Goals of this tour would be to energize the American people in these
areas behind the concept of supporting our troops regardless of what their
politics are. We have the footage to show that our brave men and women are
doing a great job with training. We have the footage from Iraqis
themselves. We could combine the interviews and in some areas the footage
to energize people in the communities to take action with local efforts
already in place with support and veterans groups.

For everybody else around the country who can not be at these events and
for our troops overseas some of these events or news of these events could
be listened to on the internet.

If you like what is in this email and want to talk let me know.

Thank you

Bob needs some sponsors to keep his show going. It would be ashame to see it die. I think a show like this is very important to everyone especially the troops.

If you can help in any way please get in touch with me or Bob.

Hello
An idea surfaced today that I would like to share with each of you to get your feedback. Today I was watching another installment of our Second Iraq Tour Interviews as edited by Altitude Sports and Entertainment on Cable TV. While I was watching our Marines I had some emails come in from others who were watching. Out of this has come an idea that has been discussed before.
Before I went to Iraq the first time I went on an almost 10,000 mile trek across the country and did talk shows in communities. By the time the trip was over I realized that I had to plan ahead more as I ended up having to borrow more money but we ended up putting some really good talk shows together. When I came back from Iraq the first time my plan was to go on a 20 or more city tour across the country showing footage from the interviews. Unfortunately I was not able to do that. When I came back from the second tour I again thought we would get news coverage and have new sponsors.
The difference this second time is that there are now a lot more people offering to help. Some are trying to help me find sponsors and companies who might want to put commercials on our Iraq interviews on cable.
There have been some good talk show interviews with Judy and United We Roll Tour and multiple interviews now with Matt Bruce.. The Captain Americas Talk Show. There is an announcement about that on our home page. Alan Gray with NewsBlaze.Com has helped a lot in getting our news releases out and more. We have a lot more people who are listening to the programs and now watching on Cable TV.
The idea that came up today is that I contact key people around the country and see who would like me to come to their community to show maybe an hour or so of footage from the first and second Iraq Talk Shows.
1. I would be looking for people who have the ability to find a place where a hundred or more people could come in and set down. A VFW or American Legion or a Church would be good places. There would have to be a way for the people to see the footage in that room.. big screen, overhead projector or something like that.
2. I would have to have a pre-commitment for at least one Level One Sponsor or Five Level Two Sponsors ($500 total). I would have to rent one and cover gas and lodging on the road. Whoever becomes the main sponsor(s) in that local community would have high visibility on our website and in the local area.
3. Once at the event I would have our brand new DVD's of the Second and hopefully First Iraq Tour that people could purchase. $5 per DVD sold would go to one or more local projects that support our troops.
4. The local organizer(s) would contact all the local media and get them involved in covering the event.
5. We could ask all who come to the event to bring items to go into care packages. Perhaps schools, ministries could involve the youth in letter writing campaigns. The letters could be brought to the event.
6. I could do a one hour talk show at the event after showing the footage. We could interview local men  and women active duty, veterans, family members of loved ones serving.
7. Local groups who are helping the troops could have an information table set up.
Goals of this tour would be to energize the American people in these areas behind the concept of supporting our troops regardless of what their politics are. We have the footage to show that our brave men and women are doing a great job with training. We have the footage from Iraqis themselves. We could combine the interviews to energize people in the communities to take action with local efforts already in place with support and veterans groups.
I am thinking that this tour could start mid April.  If you like what is in this email and want to talk let me know.
I just added two new talk show programs to the website. Both are on March 12th and both in Texas. I have been asked to go to these cities on the MoveAmericaForward.Org caravan across the country. They will air live and then go into our archives with our other interviews.
Thank you
